He and I and Mom went to the Visitor's Centre (the best place ever for help with travel planning) to plan and book a trip to Rotorua. Mom would fly up on Tuesday, and Mike and I would take a bus up on Thursday and meet her there. Afterwards Mike and I went out for a walk along Cuba Street and the waterfront, before meeting up with Mom later to take the train out to Lower Hutt. We were invited to dinner at the McGuinnesses, where my families from both sides of the world would finally meet!

Dinner with the McGuinnesses was just awesome. They're a wonderful, warm, gregarious bunch and I'm so happy that my family met them. I really don't know how I'd survive here without them.
