Recap of Day 6, part 1

Mike's 6th day here was very eventful. We covered a lot of terrain and took a TON of photos.
This post shows our daytime activities, where the next post will cover what we did once we got to Rotorua.

We had an early rise and got a very handy lift to the railway station from Steven in order to catch our 8:00am bus to Rotorua via Taupo.

Ladies and Gentleman, I present Regan the black and white lamb. And one of the most excrutiatingly affectionate sheep you'll ever encounter. You can even feel where his little horns are beginning to grow!

first view of Mt Ruapehu (aka Mordor from LOTR) from our bus

Our AMAZING bus driver (one of the nicest I've ever met) decided that the weather was too beautiful to miss the photo op, so he pulled over for us to get out and get snap-happy.
