testing

is this thing working? this is my first day of blogging and i don't really know what i'm doing. hopefully, soon, i will get a grip and be able to start posting more fluently. just for a little information: i created this blog as i'm preparing to make a big move to the other side of the world.
the initial idea behind the blog was for my use once i arrived and settled in new zealand...but i then realized that it's certainly not too early to start now. i anticipate going through a ton of emotions as the date of departure draws nearer (what am i doing? am i doing the right thing? what will happen to me? who will win Rock Star INXS?). i cannot even begin to imagine where my head will be once I arrive on antipodean soil...but hopefully this blog can serve dual purposes: 1- to communicate with those most dear who are keeping the home fires burning, and 2- to maintain some sort of sanity, and 3- to keep some sort of record of the trials and tribulations of this beginning adventurer and follower of her heart. a lot of people ask why on earth i'm moving to new zealand, and i plan on elaborating on all my reasons soon. till then, i'll just say, "have you ever been?"
